So, After all of that hard work, it comes down to paint. The most seen part of the entire build. So I have been told, picking a paint color is a very important decision. The reason is not for the obvious, it is because darker colors show more imperfections in the body work. Lighter colors can hide those imperfections much better. The time difference in body work it takes to make a dark color, gloss vehicle look amazing is really dramatic in contrast to a light color matte finish.

There isn't much I can say about the process of painting a vehicle. The process of painting is the same as priming. Even coats, with smooth left to right, up and down motion.

luckily for your viewing pleasure I recorded Rich painting the truck. its a long video (almost 40 minutes) bounce around, or watch it in its entirety. I had some fun editing the video!

I didn't take any pictures taken during the tear down of the tape and paper. After the truck dried, we had a guy cut and buff the paint. I couldn't be more happy with the way the truck turned out. Most of the truck was assembled prior to paint, other than the windscreen being installed and a few other odds and ends to button up.

Here are the final photos of the truck.

(Thank you Gordon for keeping the pressure on to get these posted!)

I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to learn so much during this build. Before this build, I knew exactly nothing about how to restore a vehicle. Now, I know just a little more than nothing. There is so much to learn, I have barely scratched the surface. I am beyond grateful to Rich, thank you!

Until next time -
